The Ocean Bar at the Armada hotel has long been an institution in the local area & a destination spot for many that travel west. The design brief was to bring to channel the amazing location of this bar perched on edge of the infamous Wild Atlantic Way.
The people are worldy-local, i.e. well travelled & cosmopolitan with a love of the home comforts of Ireland. The setting is romantic, fabulous on a sunny day & even more fabulous in the wind & the rain with the windows with views to the sea. The beach always on view from the bar is pivotal to the concept.
Washed out colours & materials are complimented by bold patterns reminiscent of the seascape, Ladders & lobster pots sourced from local fishermen adorn the ceiling & Seamus the basking shark (artwork commissioned by Armada Hotel specifically for Ocean Bar) remind you at all times of your whereabouts & celebrate the beauty of the Wild Atlantic Way. This concept is nautical & elegant in a way that has not been seen before.
